Montserrat is the most popular day trip from Barcelona: a Benedictine monastery set in a serrated rock massif about an hour inland.

Reaching it by public transport means a train followed by either a rack railway or a cable car, each with its own queue. A car goes to the monastery car park directly, which matters if you want to be there before the coaches arrive.

Most guests book it as a return with waiting time — typically three to four hours at the site — so the same driver takes them back. Tell us how long you want and we will price it as one journey.

Montserrat is outside the metered zone, so the trip is quoted as a fixed price including waiting rather than run on the meter.

How this route is priced

AMB meter tariffs cover the Barcelona metropolitan area only. Montserrat lies beyond it, so this journey runs on the interurban tariff set by the Generalitat de Catalunya: T-6 on weekdays between 08:00 and 20:00, and the higher T-7 at night, at weekends and on holidays.

The figure above is a guide based on the typical distance. Enter your exact addresses in the booking form for a precise price, or ask us on WhatsApp for a written fixed quote including any waiting time.
